AeroTech Tapered Tailcone Aft Closure for 75mm RMS Motor Casings
Base drag is often 10-15% of a rockets drag, and the Rouse-Tech Tapered Tail Cone Aft Closure eliminates much of it. Use in place of the standard aft closure on minimum-diameter birds for that extra bit of altitude! This boat-tail closure fills in the area from the edge of the closure to the edge of the standard (non-medusa style) nozzle exit with an aerodynamic taper to minimize base drag on minimum-diameter rockets able to use it.
NOTE: Tripoli Certified for use ONLY with 75mm Standard Nozzle reloads. NOT FOR USE WITH RELOADS THAT USE THE MEDUSA NOZZLE. Any use with the improper nozzle will result in the destruction of the closure and most likely the motor and rocket as well. Also, standard motor retintion wil not work with these closures, so motor retention with the use of this closure will either need to be friction-fit or eyebolt-style front closure retention.
